The existing 15 year-old kitchen, which was falling apart, was the impetus for rethinking this entire “L”-shaped space. Our clients also wanted to transition a poorly used play area into a much needed office and to revive some of the room’s dead space with additional seating.
We started by remodeling the kitchen, preserving its beloved, familiar feel while adding meaningful upgrades, including integral trash pullouts, an extra dishwasher drawer, an appliance garage, and a pop-up vent hood for the cooktop. At the end of the kitchen cabinet run, we designed a wide banquette that better utilized the eating space. Opposite the banquette, we created an office wall matching the bench in stained walnut. We were also able to find the perfect sofa to set against the wall space differentiating the two new areas to add great dimension to this living space.
