The owners of this vintage Lake Shore Drive condo wanted to annex an adjacent apartment that had been a rental unit.
As the clients already had a beautiful living room in their original space, we turned the living room in the new space into a media/entertainment center, with a custom bookcase covering an entire wall and housing a screen for a projection TV.
An adjacent room, which had been the rental unit’s dining area, was turned into a billiard room. The bedroom in the rental unit became a home office and the second apartment’s full bath was transformed into a luxiurious powder room.
From a design perspective, the goal was to realize the clients’ vision of moving this traditional space in a soft Asian direction.
“Paul is a great guy to work with! I think he is aware of some of the subtle issues going on with couples when they are trying to make decorating/design decisions. This was one of the advantages of working with Paul, he seemed to be very sensitive to each partner’s preferences, things they couldn’t live with and what might make or break a relationship.”
